The Westside Golf Instructional Pro/Am is a unique event in that it focuses on golf instruction that will benefit not only those new to the game but also to those more seasoned individuals. Working alongside the PGA Golf Club and its resident PGA Professional members, we will host a series of Instructional Pro/Am activities that will focus on Putting, Chipping and long game instruction. While the activities will focus on instruction there will be opportunities for friendly competition with a 9-hole putting competition in addition to a 6-hole chipping competition.
Golf Events: 2:00 – 5:00 pm PGA Practice Facilities
Celebration: 5:00 – 7:00 pm Champions Pavilion
Each hour there will be a round of competition occurring on the Putting and Chipping practice areas along with an hour long group instructional session focused on various aspects of your golf game. Players/Teams will rotate through the various events each hour with an opportunity to participate in each activity alongside one our PGA professional instructors. Registration includes participation in the 9 hole putting competition, access to the instructional activities and the celebration dinner. A limited number of registrants will also be able to participate in the 6-hole Chipping Competition.
9-hole Putting Pro/Am competition:
Located at the Putting green beside the South Practice range. A total of 27 teams will be competing with 9 teams playing in a shotgun format each hour. Your team will be assigned their starting time the day of the event. 4 player teams will be paired with a local PGA Professional, who will not only play alongside their assigned team but who will also provide instruction on putting techniques designed to improve your game. The team score for each hole will be the total of the 3 best scores for the hole. Your Pro’s score does count. Prizes will be awarded to the three teams with the lowest cumulative score for the event.
6-hole Chipping Pro/Am competition:
Located at the chipping practice facility across Perfect drive.
Event is limited to 18 teams, 72 individuals. A total of 18 teams will be competing with 6 teams playing in a shotgun format each hour. Your team will be assigned their starting time the day of the event. 4 player teams will be paired with a local PGA Professional, who will not only play alongside their assigned teams but who will also provide instruction on various chipping techniques designed to improve your short game. The team score for each hole will be the total of the 3 best scores for the hole. Your Pro’s score does count. Prizes will be awarded to the three teams with the lowest strokes total.
Learning Center:
Located at the North practice tees.
PGA Golf Club professionals will be providing group instruction throughout the event. Players will be able to rotate through the learning center in between the putting and chipping competitions.
Raffle:
Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the event.
Celebration:
All participants will have an option of grilled burgers, hot dogs, chicken, chips and beverage.
Presentations will be made recognizing the work of our local charities. Award presentations will be made for our competition winners. Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the celebration.
Westside Church has long supported the mission of GraceWay Village in helping to meet the needs of individuals and families in need across our community. As such, we would like to partner with GraceWay in hosting this charity event with all proceeds donated to GraceWay in support of their ongoing programs. GraceWay Village was established in 2009, GraceWay has been serving Treasure Coast residents grappling with poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, and other dire circumstances. With a vision to alleviate the struggles of families in crisis and lay the groundwork for a fulfilling, independent, and sustainable life.
Our mission is twofold: to feed the hungry and to provide clothing to children aged infancy to 18 from low-income families. Additionally, we conduct workshops designed to enhance their lives and boost their productivity. Daily activities include serving free, hot meals four nights a week, providing appropriate clothing, underwear, socks, and shoes to children, and offering life-enriching educational workshops to help clients improve their basic life skills.
